Tiger Dendritic Agate and Tiger Dendrite Agate is a very hard stone from Indonesia, aptly named because of the orange and black tiger like Dendrite through the stone. This stone also commonly has Crystal Druzy and makes fantastic display specimens or jewellery.
Agate is the name given to numerous varieties of banded Chalcedony, which is a mineral of the Quartz family. Dendritic Agate is sometimes called Tree Agate and is not banded and therefore not strictly an Agate in scientific terms but is included in the Agate family. It gets its name from a Greek word meaning tree-like. These Agates are usually colourless, white, or grey, and have tree-like or fern-like inclusions of manganese or iron, called dendrites.
Dendritic Agate is ideal for examination of oneself, and the self-imposed limitations and patterns that make up one's life experiences. It is a helpful talisman for anyone involved in therapy, meditation, rebirthing, a twelve-step program, or any path of serious work that requires a day-to-day behavioural change necessary to achieve desired results.
This material is natural, untreated stone suitable for display or lapidary purposes.
These slabs are not polished and are straight off the saw and washed.
Photos are taken wet so to indicate the colour and pattern of the stone after it has been polished. No filters or photo editing has been undertaken to enhance colouration.
Slab measurements are approximate. When we measure a stone, we don't measure from it's extreme pointy little tips. We measure the usable body of the stone for lapidary purposes. When you receive your slab, it will be bigger than the description by 5-15mm.
